Description: I’ve had this cigar sitting in my humidor for a month or two, a gift from Doc Stogiefresh. The cigar is beautiful, and a fantastic work of art. I love the dark maduro contrasting the silver bands. The wrapper is a bit rough looking, but has some crystals on the wrapper. This is one of those cigars that I sat inspecting for a few minutes before lighting it.
The Triple Maduro doesn’t pull any punches, starting off with some woody and espresso flavors. It gives off a ton of white smoke while your puffing on it, but not much sitting in the ashtray. I did have some burn issues that required some touch up, but it evened up after awhile. The first half was mostly espresso, and dark chocolate with some creaminess to it. I really wish I would have eaten more prior to smoking this cigar, it does have some strength to it. About the half way point I noticed some black pepper kicking in occasionally, but it didn’t overpower the other flavors. This cigar burns very slow and after 90 minutes I was surprised to be only two thirds of the way through it. Time is running short though, and I was really starting to feel a buzz kicking, so I had to set it down.
Verdict: A great full bodied smoke, that would be fantastic to unwind the day with for the smoker who loves a cigar with some kick. I will warn you though, this cigar is not for you if you haven’t gotten used to fuller strength cigars.
