STORAGE CONDITIONS: These smokes have been stored in their original box inside a cabinet humidor set at 69%RH. I moved them from my Aristocrat cabinet humidor, which also had an RH% set at 69%. I am always moving boxes around my three cabinets, for one reason or another. The temperature these past three months has ranged between 66-72 degrees F.

This is the third in a series of reviews on this special edition stick from Camacho Cigars.

I confess right from the start that I love this cigar and have smoked quite a few over the past few months. I had only smoked a couple prior to the new packaging Camacho introduced in mid 2007, and liked those as well, but when I discovered the 11/18 size, the Diploma found a permanent home in my humidor.

The cigar is very well constructed. This size must be a little more difficult to roll, but I’ve yet to get one that did not have an outstanding draw. The cap is nicely applied, the band is beautiful and the Authentic Corojo wrapper is elegant. Simply no other word comes to mind. Clipping the cap on this cigar almost seems sinful. (more…)

Cigar Links Edition 2: Camacho Diploma @ CigarJack.net

This week’s edition of Cigar Links focuses on the Camacho Corojo Diploma. I reviewed the Camacho Diploma Natural back in August 2007. The tobacco in the Diploma is from the Fifth Priming. These are the top most leaves taken from the plant last so they get more sun and nutrients. Resulting in a stronger and more flavorful cigar. (more…)

Camacho was the latest participant at The Party Source’s weekly cigar event. They brought with them the Camacho Diploma complete with it’s new presentation. They really went all out with the design of the new bands, a big change from the old simple Diploma band. This Honduran puros is comprised of the choicest Corojo leaf grown in the Jamastran Valley. Beautiful is the best word to describe this oily cigar with a slightly toothed wrapper. It was heavy, firm and the draw was easy with just a touch of resistance.The complexity of the Diploma doesn’t take long to show up (more…)
