Camacho Triple Maduro VS. Itself @ Matt’s Cigar Journal

I first reviewed the Camacho Triple Maduro back in May 2007. That review was based on a cello wrapped unbanded Rothschild that was provided to me by Camacho before the official release of this much heralded cigar. I found the cigar to be a pretty decent smoke, but I was not wowed by it. Subsequently, I have been informed by others who also tried one of these unbanded “pre-released” versions of the Triple Maduro, that the Triple Maduro which ultimately hit the shelves is much better. I don’t claim to know if there is really any difference between what is on the shelves now versus what I smoked then, but I figured I would put it to the test. It just so happens that I still possess one of the sample smokes I got way back in May. (more…)

Box Price: $198 (Box of 21)

Description: I’ve had this cigar sitting in my humidor for a month or two, a gift from Doc Stogiefresh. The cigar is beautiful, and a fantastic work of art. I love the dark maduro contrasting the silver bands. The wrapper is a bit rough looking, but has some crystals on the wrapper. This is one of those cigars that I sat inspecting for a few minutes before lighting it.

Camacho Triple Maduro Torpedo CigarThe Triple Maduro doesn’t pull any punches, starting off with some woody and espresso flavors. It gives off a ton of white smoke while your puffing on it, but not much sitting in the ashtray. I did have some burn issues that required some touch up, but it evened up after awhile. (more…)

Camacho Triple Maduro Reviewed by InTheHumidor.com

Monday, December 31st, 2007

I got a fiver of these smokes from cbid and am really enjoying them. This cigar is a very unique cigar in that it is currently the only triple maduro cigar on the market. This really is a powerhouse cigar, not for the weak or faint of heart. It packs a huge punch and if you are not careful it could knock you into a tailspin.

Three is the magic number!

Maduro leaves normally are reserved for cigar wrappers, and a few manufacturers have used them for binders (the leaf under the wrapper) as well. Camacho might be the first to offer a cigar made from entirely maduro leaf. (more…)

Welcome back for another cigar review here at Stogie Review. As some of you may have noticed (or at least I hope you noticed) I was missing in action for a review last week. I had a bit of an allergy problem as the weather started to change for the cooler here in PA. After a little over a week of taking medication and taking a break from cigars I feel great and am ready to get back into my weekly routine. (more…)

Camacho Triple Maduro Figurado Review @ StogieGuys.com

Monday, June 11th, 2007

Camacho is known for its full flavored smokes. So when the Honduran-based company announced that it was introducing the industry’s first triple maduro cigar, smokers everywhere braced for the power-packed smoke which is just starting to hit select cigar stores.

Made in Camacho’s factory in the Jamastran Valley of Honduras (just outside of Danli) the blend combines five different types of maduro tobacco – but Camacho is keeping tight-lipped about the details of the leaves that make up the blend, except to say that the wrapper and filler are grown on Camacho’s farms in Jamastran. I am absolutely enamored with the look, feel and taste of this cigar. Especially knowing what it took to make a cigar with an all maduro tobacco blend. (more…)
